I started out helping friends build their cars, offering advice and lending a hand whenever I could. The more time I spent tuning engines and fine-tuning performance, the more I realized the parts available weren’t always built the way I wanted them to be.

After stumbling across a ’61 ragtop project, I dove headfirst back into the air-cooled world. That build reignited something — not just a passion for driving, but a drive to improve the parts themselves.

I often found inferior components that needed refining. That frustration became the foundation of King Performance. I wanted to offer parts I’d proudly run on my own builds and confidently stand behind.

King Performance is sometimes searched as “King VW,” but we are not a car dealership. We specialize exclusively in aftermarket air-cooled Volkswagen performance parts.
